Nice phone - Loose the cordless
I've had mine for quite some time now and there are too many reasons to skip the cordless phone and get just the base phone. Making any sort of changes to the cordless handset is almost impossible. It answers the phone when you pick it up out of the base so you can't grab the phone, look at caller ID and then decide to answer the phone. This can NOT be changed. As mentioned by others, the battery is problematic from life standpoint and replaceability.
Sidetone is also an issue with the cordless handset. I never did solve that problem. Aastra makes solid gear, they must have outsourced the cordless handset. If you need wireless - check out Panasonic, love that phone.

weak battery
I purchased a 57i CT and do like the base station features, but the cordless handset is pretty much useless! after a short time the battery would run out of juice already while trying to dial the number or cut of the call after not even a minute of talk time. hopefully this new model(6757i CT) has a better battery, otherwise I recommend you look for another brand!

Great Phone
Had a problem with the original 57i CT unit making handsets completely inoperable; replaced with a newer 6757i CT and without any configuration changes it worked seamlessly. Phone setup and programming is wonderful, lots of features. New users to the external handset often require instruction how to use it, not so with the base station itself.

Decent phone, cordless battery is poor
The phones work fine, we have about 18 hooked up to a custom built Asterisk server. We've had half our cordless phones go out - probably battery problems - haven't tried very hard to get them fixed yet, will be looking for replacement batteries.

Since I still find all PBX-related gear so ridiculously priced compared to home gear, I have a hard time with the value/price ratings - but the prices seem in line with the industry.

The base phones are durable and work pretty good - the handset - well batteries aren't great and we haven't made them terribly easy to use with our system yet (partially our problem, probably need some more configuration support).

57iCT
We set up our hosted PBX through Octopus IP. They encouraged us to use the Aastra 57iCT for our cordless requirements and boy are we glad we did! This phone is a little VoIP gem! If you are looking for a cordless VoIP solution orde this phone and call Octopus.

One compliant - Battery Life
When the rechargable battery goes, it is very hard to get hold of one, there is like one place on the whole internet where you can buy one and its not cheap, and it is almost impossible to buy in conventional shops.

That is my only complaint. Battery doesn't last long if you let it to sit discharged for some time but that's normal for rechargable batteries. Otherwise the phone has great distance coverage and there is great support via downloadable pdf manuals for this phone as well as its base.

57iCT does not come with Operating Manual
We have 57i phones and one 57iCT for the receptionist. The coreless phone does not come with an operating manual. All you get is the instructions for the base phone. Without instructions how does she figure out how to use the phone features when away from the desk? Aastra support gave bad advice about our 57i issues. But in all fairness, we have not called about the coreless phone operation. You would just think that they would have a manual as good as they do for the 57i. but even that manual does not even mention the cordless phone let alone it features and operation.
