Solution Overview

Aastra SIP Dect System

As we start a new decade, VoIP is old technology. Everyone has it, but users are demanding more utility and more flexibility of their VoIP Solutions. Wireless DECT phones offer mobility for the roaming office user while still taking advantage of the cost savings of VoIP. DECT solutions to run on your SIP-based PBX are plentiful. The Aastra SIP DECT solution is very easy to install and maintain, and much less expensive than some of your other options. In addition, Aastra's SIP DECT offers flexible options beyond voice on their DECT handsets such as text messaging and 'Man Down' notification.

VoIP Supply's SIP DECT configurator will help you assemble your Aastra SIP-DECT solution easily so you can be sure you are ordering only what you need and nothing that you don't. Unlike other offerings, Aastra's SIP-DECT 142, 610D, 620D, and 630D handsets ship with a battery, charger, North American power supply, and a belt clip, so you can be sure you have what you need to get up and running the first time.

Activation Software

Is this your first Aastra SIP-DECT solution you are installing on your SIP-based PBX? If it is, you will need one copy of the Open Mobility Manager (OMM) Software. If not, you already have a copy and don't need another one!

Repeaters

In this step, you will choose how many indoor repeaters you will need. Each Aastra DECT repeater will handle 8 concurrent calls, up to 12 VoIP Channels, and cover a range of approx 150 sq feet. Each DECT network will accommodate up to 256 DECT Repeaters. Choose how many RFP32 indoor repeaters you will need.

Outdoor Repeaters

Do you need a repeater for outdoors or extreme temperature areas? If you do, you need an RFP34. Each RFP34 will handle 8 concurrent calls, up to 12 VoIP Channels and cover a range of approx 150-300 feet. Choose the quantity of outdoor repeaters you will be needing.

Handsets

In this step, you will choose the handsets you want for your network. The Aastra DECT-142 is a basic DECT phone with a grayscale LCD screen and an economical price point. The Aastra 610D features a backlit grayscale LCD with a 2.5mm headset jack for hands-free conversation and boasts an IP50 protection class. The Aastra 620D is also an IP50 protection class DECT phone, however the color LCD screen and Bluetooth headset capability make it a more user friendly piece than the 610D. The Aastra 630D is identical to the 620D in appearance, however it has the added features of the Emergency Key for an onsite alert system and IP65 protection rating.
