What is the difference between "lines" and "line appearances?" I am switching a church over to a ip telephony system and they have 8 incoming numbers (one published, rollever if busy) with 20+ extensions. Do I need an eight line phone or a phone that has enough line appearances to cover 8 incoming numbers??

Thanks in advance anyone!!

Good practical advice Garrett.

Also, remember to evaluate software licensing costs associated as well as the phone cost, as these can be a surprise. In times like this managed service offers as well can spread the cost of this capital into a managable monthly expense, for the communications system, as well as the phones too!
