Q: Can I use a wireless headset with this Polycom VVX310? If so, which are the best suggested headsets?

A: Yes, although it does not have Bluetooth. You'll need a wireless base-type headset. Look at the Plantronics or Jabra headsets. Both are good quality.

Too Complicated
The Polycom platform, while high quality voice, is too complicated to manage and operate. Simple things like Blind Transfer are hidden below extra buttons, and making the slightest configurations requires a provisioning server and messing up with complicated xml files and commands.

The polycom platform needs a trained IT team behind it, thus not your choice for a small business.

high quality vice, unfriendly interface
I was looking for an IP phone that would be easy to setup. Ok, so non exist. I tested Cisco, Snom, Polycom, Grandstream and they have their "issues." They each cater to their own approved or homebred system.

The polycom offers great voice quality and nice presentation on the desk. To simply get a sip account up and running you can use the first tab and you are done. If you try to do anything beyond that, you can spend hours trying to figure out their platform, and it appears that most functions can't be setup in a simple GUI but require either command line modification or working with some unified polycom system that I have not been able to install.

I am sure experienced VoIP engineers can figure it out, but why on earth can't they make it easier to deal with for normal people too????
