While I can\u2019t pin point the exact drink that caused me to miss it, I have pulled myself together and taken a look at them.<\/p>\n<p>The side of ClearOne that I know best is <a href=\"\/manufacturer\/clearone\">their USB personal and tabletop conferencing products which is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what they have to offer<\/a>. The new <a title=\"ClearOne CHAT USB Headsets\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-10d\">CHAT USB headsets<\/a> fall into the same bin as the mentioned products and are a smart move by ClearOne.<\/p>\n<h2>3 Headset Groups<\/h2>\n<p>These USB\u00a0headsets are broken into<strong> three different classifications<\/strong> by ClearOne:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Classic<\/li>\n<li>Premium<\/li>\n<li>Professional<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before I go into what makes each headset different I\u2019ll go over the common ground. All of the headsets have simple plug-and-play installation and feature in-line volume controls for UC applications. This includes full compatibility with <strong>Microsoft Lync<\/strong> call controls.<\/p>\n<p>All three styles are also equipped with Acoustic Shock Protection (ASP) technology which helps prevent high-pitched tones and annoying volume spikes. Additional they all have ClearOne proprietary noise-cancelling technology filters.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Separating the Classic from the Premium<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"post-thumbnail\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-10d\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"ClearOne CHAT 10D\" src=\"\/media\/catalog\/product\/c\/l\/clearone_chat_10d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"126\" height=\"126\" \/><\/a>The Classic consist of one headset, \u00a0the <a title=\"ClearOne CHAT 10D\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-10d\">ClearOne CHAT 10D<\/a>\u00a0which features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0binaural headset with an adjustable headband.<\/li>\n<li>Foam ear cushions.<\/li>\n<li>An adjustable boom mic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With an MSRP of $40 this really is your entry level headset for call centers.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"post-thumbnail\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-20m\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"ClearOne CHAT 20M\" src=\"\/media\/catalog\/product\/c\/l\/clearone_chat_20m.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"126\" height=\"126\" \/><\/a>The Premium consist of two different models:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"ClearOne CHAT 20M\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-20m\">ClearOne CHAT 20M<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"ClearOne CHAT 20D\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-20d\">ClearOne CHAT 20D<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The only difference between the two is that the CHAT 20M is monaural while the 20D is binaural.\u00a0 The CHAT 20 headset&#8217;s\u00a0adjustable boom mic features a windscreen and the headset includes a travel pouch. They also have an adjustable headband but, feature a higher quality ear piece.<\/p>\n<p>Once again with the MSRPs being pretty low (CHAT 20M, $50 and CHAT 20D, $60) they are still a good match for call centers.<\/p>\n<h2>Professional Models<\/h2>\n<p>The Professional models are the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of the ClearOne USB Headsets.<\/p>\n<p>Like the CHAT 20 models the Professional ClearOne CHAT 30 series come in two different styles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"post-thumbnail\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-30m\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"ClearOne CHAT 30M\" src=\"\/media\/catalog\/product\/c\/l\/clearone_chat_30m.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"147\" height=\"147\" \/><\/a><a title=\"ClearOne CHAT 30M\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-30m\">ClearOne CHAT 30M<\/a>\u00a0(Monaural)<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"ClearOne CHAT 30D\" href=\"\/clearone-chat-30d\">ClearOne CHAT\u00a030D<\/a>\u00a0(Binaural)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These CHAT 30 series\u00a0headsets feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An \u2018ergonomic\u2019 ear piece for extended wear.<\/li>\n<li>Adjustable headband.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0pivoting boom mic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of the three models the CHAT 30 are most expensive (CHAT 30M, $75 and CHAT 30D, $100) which might make them a bit pricey for some call centers but are a good match for higher level employees. Plus you still get the travel pouch.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think this signals ClearOnes\u2019 intention to go head to head with Jabra or Plantronics in the headset market as a whole but just the <a title=\"Lync USB Headsets\" href=\"\/headsets\/lync\">Lync USB headset<\/a> market.<\/p>\n<p>With the growth of Lync users in 2011the ClearOne CHAT USB headsets make a lot of sense and could add some padding to their bottom line.
