The Netgear FS728TP is a 24 port 10/100 Smart Switch with 4 Gigabit ports and 24 PoE ports. Part of the Netgear family of ProSafe Smart Switches, the FS728TP provides power and data using built-in IEEE 802.3af PoE on all 24 ports with a total power budget of 192 Watts.

ProSafe Smart Switches fill the gap between unmanaged and fully managed switches. Netgear's ProSafe Gigabit Plus Switches Series are build to help optimize the performance of business networks. They optimize network traffic accordingly by separating the voice and video traffic from data for a faster, better quality deployment of VoIP and IP surveillance needs. This series also offers traffic monitoring for users to observe traffic behavior and in the event that there is a connectivity mishap, these switches are able to pinpoint what the connectivity issue is and where it is located via a cable diagnostic test.

ProSAFE Gigabit Smart Switches offer both port and tag-based prioritization to keep latency-sensitive traffic moving ahead of less critical tasks. All the switches in this series offer port and 802.1Q-based VLAN to improving security and network performance.
