IT Expo kicks off and kicks open new doors

4:30am wake-up. Middle seat on five hour flight. Forest fires and 100 degree temperatures.

Ah!

It must be another venture out to the west coast for Internet Telephony Conference and Expo (IT Expo).

All kidding aside, today marked the opening of IT Expo West. If you’re not familiar with IT Expo, it’s the leading IP Communications conference and expo put on by the folks at TMC that connects potential buyers with the best suppliers and most intelligent minds in the industry.

Taking place at the mammoth LA Convention, the first day of events featured two outstanding keynotes on the future of IP Communications AND a full day of sessions surrounding the emerging opportunities with Smart Grid technologies.

Oh and let’s not forget a third keynote from PAETEC CEO Arunas Chesonis where the world learned of PAETEC’s plan to become a player in energy, a move that could garner the company new revenues in the neighborhood of $250 million (note this wasn’t done with my TI Scientific…so don’t hold me too it.)
