Our tech support team at VoIP Supply offers great pre- and post-sales support plus provisioning, consultations, configuration, and installation help. We get a lot of VoIP hardware and software questions and would like to share the solutions with everyone.
In previous Mom’s calling Q&A series, we have discussed: SIP phones vs VoIP phones: What’s the difference? Today we are going to talk about the GVC3202 and Google Hangouts. Let’s get to it!
Q: If I will be using the GVC3202 with Google Hangouts do I still need to order the IP VideoTalk subscription?
A: If you are only using the Grandstream GVC3202 with Google Hangouts, you don’t need to order the IPVideoTalk subscription. However, if you want to bridge the calls between IPVideoTalk and Hangouts, yes you will need it.

I am new to this system and I have a grandstream 6208, is it possible to generate an announcement without going to the web interface?
Hi merovill,
Thanks for your comment! The answer is NO. It will need to be configured thru the WebUI, there is no heavy asterisk programming that is permissible, Grandstream has blocked this. I hope this helps. Thank you!
