Questions on Cisco SPA8000

From Peter at 6/6/2014 8:00 PM

Q: I want to use the SPA8000 to install VOIP to replace 3 or more separate incoming landline circuits. The existing phone lines are all run over Cat5e. Is there an issue with the FXS ports driving the existing Cat5e installation?

A: Absolutely not. Cat5e cable should work fine with your phones system while 3 PSTN lines will go into your Cisco SPA8000 FXS ports.

From Bud at 7/26/2016 8:00 PM

Q: We're switching from and in-house Nortel PBX to an in-house Asterisk VOIP system. We will still need some of our analog lines. Will this work to tie the analog lines to our VOIP system?

A: Hi Bud,

This is basically a Gateway for site to site. This will allow analog lines based on an IP-data network. Please contact our sales experts to further assist your inquiry!

Thank you for choosing VoIP Supply!

A great IP Telephony product
With 8 voice ports SPA-8000 haves incredible performance and functionality, working well with many voice applications including Asterisk. The body is very strong and his fan cooler make this device very reliable.

So far so good
As the SPA2100 only has one DSP unit the SPA8000 has eight. This means all eight ports are capable of g729 processing at the same time. Other then that they are the same - plug them in and you nearly never have to concern yourself with it.

great device hardly even locks up and takes g729
