  1. Several Problems

Reviewed by K. Mullen on 11/19/09

I loved the look and feel of this phone. However, I had several issues.

The most troubling was that the phone would just shut off, sometimes during a conversation for no apparent reason. Not sure why, it just happened. So know that this could be an issue for you.

  2. Very good phone

Reviewed by Davidson Gilligan on 6/29/09

After 2 years I decided to test a wireless IP phone. Very impressed with the battery life. It sat around for days and was still ready to go. Seems to work very well in a one AP environment. Have not tested multi AP’s Would like to have 2 lines, but this is a great step up from the old days.

  3. Roaming issues

Reviewed by Tilghman Lesher on 4/9/09

Another issue with this phone is that it will not roam between APs. The manufacturer has replied and said that they are aware of the issue and will be correcting it in a future firmware upgrade.

  4. Not as pleased as I’d hoped

Reviewed by M Beebe on 12/4/08

Seems to have an ‘echo’ at the far end. Occasionally turns “off” without warning, especially after charging it all night. If there are ‘other’ AP’s in range, it sometimes tries to associate with the wrong AP. Mostly, it is not reliable enough to consider putting it into the hands of an ordinary user.

  5. Best one I’ve tried so far

Reviewed by Chad Peterson on 10/30/08

Having used the UTStarcom F3000 phone at home for the past 6 months, I recently picked up a QuickPhones QA342, and it’s better than the F3000 in a number of areas. Stays registered, no NAT Keep Alive issues to speak of, good battery performance.

  6. Nearly ideal Wireless IP Phone

Reviewed by D. McNamara on 10/23/08

I purchased a pre release eval unit of this phone having read some of the press about the product release promising better battery life than wireless sip phone from other manufacturers. The QA342 lives up to the hype, I’ve had it registered as an extension on my PBX and have been getting great battery life as advertised. One pointer - If you are using an AP with WMM enabled, you have to temporarily disable the “power saver” mode on the phone to connect to the WMM enabled access point. Once you connect to the WMM enabled AP, you can re-enable the “power saver” mode on the phone. I heard they are going to fix this issue in the next firmware release, so the phone automatically disables power saver mode when connecting to an AP, then automatically re-enable the features post-connect.

Otherwise, extremely satisfied with this product.
