Questions on Snom PA-1
From DELAXA at 5/31/2014 8:00 PM
Q: Dear Sir
I’m going to buy SNOM AP1 to use it as a public announcement.
I have an IP PBX D-link DVX-2004F
and I wanna make sure that your device is Compatible with Dlink IP PBX
A: SNOM Support RFC 3261 SIP platform that means it is compatible with D Link DVX-2004F PBX.
Q: We recently switched to a cloud-based VOIP phone system provided by ideacom. We have Yealink T42G phones. Can we use the SNOM-PA1 to ring an external bell when a specific extension is called in our shipping dept?
A: Hi Steve,
I don't think you'll be able to ring an external bell, but you could play a ringing sound over a speaker:
great product You need to know a little bit about sip pbx to use these. However if you can setup a phone you can set this up. Multiple options for audio out, customizable from the Web interface and easy paging by setting up a feature code to the snoms extension. We use this to play live calls overhead which takes a little more engineering and I'll let you figure that out...:)
Works exactly as described.

Poor Support I have just purchased a SNOM PA1 device. I have been trying to get support from SNOM to no avail. When you call SNOM, you can never reach anyone in Tech Support. Their menu indicates that you have to create a ticket prior to calling support. When you go through their maze of questions online, you are never given the opportunity to create a ticket. Very, very poor support and even worse customer service.
If their phone system is any indication of the quality of their devices, I think I am in big trouble in ever getting this device to work.
