The Linksys SPA2102 features two POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) ports to connect existing analog phones, fax machines, or to a PBX system. The Linksys SPA2102 includes 2 100BaseT RJ45 Ethernet interfaces (LAN-WAN) to connect to a home or office LAN, as well as an Ethernet connection to a broadband modem or router (WAN). Good for the money, relatively easy to support

For a 2 line ATA, the SPA2102 works for us in office environments running direct accounts to SIP Trunks as well as remote extensions for asterisk/trixbox behind NATs. The main plus is the relatively large bit of information out on forums and blogs to support different setup challenges for this unit. The main con of any lower cost ATA is the inability to do “spanning” much like hunt groups with multiple SIP accounts. This ATA also doesn’t have that ability. Overall, though, a very good unit and relatively easy to setup.
