Questions on Linksys PAP2T (Discontinued)

From Alan at 4/12/2016 8:00 PM

Q: I have a Linksys PAP2T and I cannot find the reset button. I have changed my main router and need to change settings on the Linksys but it does not respond to http://192.168.15.1 address so I am trying to reset completely. serial FLI00H154273.
THANKS Alan

A: Hi Alan,

Thank you for your question!

Please follow these exact instructions, there is no actual hardware "reset" button to push.

Step1: Connect a telephone connected to line1 of the ATA unit and power up your ATA unit using its power adapter.

Step2: Disconnect your PAP2T adapter from the internet connection or in other words just unplug the ethernet cable from the PAP2T hardware unit. Resetting with internet connecttion may mess up the unit making it completely useless.

Step3: Dial ****, and wait for the Interactive Voice Menu (IVM) to get activated. After hearing this message, type in the following number with the # symbol.

73738#

This number spells RESET.

Step4: After this, you will be asked to confirm this by pressing 1.

Your linksys ATA unit will now go back to it factory default settings.

Thank you,

Q: Does this work with Pioneer Telephone Residential VoIP service? http://www.pioneertelephone.com/residential

A: Hi William,

I am not too sure. You will have to ask Pioneer. more than likely it will if that VoIP provider talks using the SIP protocol.

Q: Can i connect this device (linksys PAP2T) to any server whom support sip 5060 and can it by pass my ISP restrictions over on 5060 port
?

A: Hi Musharaf,

Yes, you can SIP register the device to most to all SIP registrars. I don't believe this will however "bypass" your ISP restrictions. They are in control of the ports in the modem/router.
