Have you ever looked at your desk phone and wondered why there is a blinking red light? Or maybe a flashing green light? I feel like when it comes to weird blinky things there are two different types of people. Either you just say “Ehh, it’s always been that way” or “why is this blinking! It’s never blinked before!”

Either way, if something is grabbing your attention, then it is probably a good idea to know what it is trying to tell you. Even if it means knowing how to make it stop so the guy next to you with OCD leaves you alone.

No matter what phone you have on your desk when it comes to notifications they are all generally similar. So let’s go over what your phone migh tbe trying to tell you by taking a closer look at the Power Indicator LED patterns on the Yealink T46S.

How to Read the Power Indicator LED on the Yealink T46S

If the phone’s LED indicator is solid red, that means the phone is initializing
If the phone’s LED indicator is fast flashing red, that means the phone is ringing or the network is disconnected.
If the phone’s LED indicator is slow flashing red, that means the phone has received a text message or voicemail
If the phone’s LED indicator is off then the phone is either off, or there are no notifications or activity.

And there you have it! The next time your Yealink T46S is blinking red at you, you should know exactly what it is trying to tell you. How to Transfer Calls

Most of the DECT/ Wireless/ Cordless solutions on the market allow users to transfer calls through their menu to an extension/number. However, this process takes extra time to go through the menu and select “transfer”. Some cordless phones’ transfer functions are even buried deeply somewhere else, which causes inconvenience to many busy users who need to transfer calls multiple times a day.

Is there s Simple Way to Transfer Calls?

Yes, there is. One possible solution would be using a deskphone instead, as most of the corded phones provide a simple transfer key. I know what you are going to say – well, that defeats the purpose of having a wireless phone at first! Snom Opens the Summer Season with an Up to 15% Price Reduction!

snom The German-based VoIP manufacturer Snom announced a summer promotion that provides its IP phones at reduced prices of up to 15 percent. This big price drop is from the savings obtained through their partnership with VTech, a Hong Kong-based parent company, which acquired Snom in 2016.

Snom phones will now be manufactured fully by VTech and the savings they gained will be passed onto Snom partners and their customers. The updated reduced price list will be published at the beginning of July and be effective from 6th, July. We will keep you posted!

This is the start of a series of measures that Snom will implement to build closer relationships with existing partners and customers. We look forward to seeing more benefits coming in the following months!

Doing this will ensure a clear and easy path for customers who will be transitioning over to Mitel.

Edgewater Networks announced that they have certified the Mitel 6800 Series SIP Phones with their portfolio of EdgeMarc Intelligent Edges.

This certification shows the interoperability between Mitel 6800 Series and Edgewater Networks’ Intelligent Edges, which includes Mitel 6863i, 6865i, 6867i, 6869i and 6873i and Edgewater Networks EdgeMarc Intelligent Edges and EdgeView Service Control Center.

“The certification process helps service providers and end users deploy the joint Edgewater Networks and Mitel solution with confidence,” says Jennifer Kidd, VP of Business Development and head of the QuickConnect Interoperability Lab for Edgewater Networks.

How to Customize Your Wallpaper on the Obihai 1032

Statistically speaking, most of us will spend around 90,000 hours of our lives working. Some of us will spend most of that time in an office, or at a desk. What I can’t tell you is how much of that time you will spend daydreaming about being somewhere else.

While I’m sure it would add up to a couple thousand hours, one thing we can say for sure if that it is important to have things with us at work that remind us why we get up and go through the grind week-in and week-out.

Maybe a picture? Or a souvenir from a memorable trip? No matter what it is, you have to have a little bit of your own personality on your desk, but what about your phone? It is not uncommon for deskphones to display images and if you have a phone that can do this, then you have to take advantage!

There are tons of different IP phones out there! Some of them work similar, most of them are different, but setting your own personal wallpaper is easy! For this blog, we are going to go through how to customize your wallpaper on the Obihai 1032! Just follow these easy steps!

Insert a USB flash drive into the Obihai 1032
Navigate to Storage in Settings
Once you locate your USB flash drive select the device and press Explore
Select the image you would like to use off of your USB flash drive by pressing Select
Press Copy and the screen will automatically switch to the destination drive “Internal”
From there, navigate to the folder called “backgnd” and open
Then simply hit Paste and your image will be added to the phone’s wallpaper collection

Q: We currently have a Patton 4114 FXS extension connected to a Bogen UTI1 for our overhead paging from 3CX. Where do I set up a Pin paging code so that way only my end users can use those extensions?
